The Time Is Now

Do you remember when you were a kid and got something really special and you just wanted to hold it, look at it, smell it? For me it was a box of 64, count them, 64 Crayola crayons, with the sharpener in the back. What a thing of beauty! I didn’t want to ruin the perfectly sharpened points, or have to peel back the paper to eek out a little more color. I wanted to save them forever. As I got older, other things took their place; shoes that I wouldn’t wear outside because they’d get ruined, jewelry that might get lost if worn, platters that were too fancy for everyday use. Being a granny of a certain age, I’ve decided that the time is now. I will wear the fancy clothes with the fancy jewels and the fancy shoes. What am I waiting for? I will commit to being healthy and fit today, not tomorrow. There’s no time to waste waiting for the perfect moment to do (insert what you want to do). We have now, today, so…
Put on your soles to wake up your soul, and just go!

  1. Granny soles, you nailed it. Beautifully written, insightful, and so true! Although I must admit, I still love to stare at those perfectly sharpened crayons in the most perfect order….
