The Murph Challenge

Memorial Day.

A day of reverence, humility, and honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Lt. Michael Murphy was a Part of a SEAL team in Afghanistan in 2005. He was mortally wounded in combat. The story of his selfless act of heroism is incredible to read. Check it out at The Murph Challenge. A Memorial Foundation was created in his name and all proceeds from this event went to his foundation.  Since CrossFit Fidelity was an official host of the challenge, the Soleful Mamas had to be there to support the cause.

The workout: 1 mile run. 100 pull ups (we did ring rows), 200 push ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run – athletes were supposed to wear a 20 lb vest. We did not, but hope to next year.

It was an incredible and humbling experience that I’m so thankful for. Here are some of my favorite photos from the event.

Even the kids had an amazing time.
